Welfare is an area of policy where those notionally on the left and the right find the least common ground with conflict on principles of care and responsibility; buying votes and mollifying the masses; taxation and redistribution; equality and fairness; pragmatism and ethics.
This event provides a platform for speakers from different political and ideological backgrounds to present their ideas on how politics and morality are tangled up in the context of welfare.
