Evan Thornley is CEO of Better Place Australia, a company committed to building the world's first electric car network. Prior to this, Evan was a Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier of Victoria. He is also National Secretary of the Australian Fabian Society and was previously a member of the Council of The University of Melbourne, and a founding director of www.getup.org.au. He is also a board member of the Brotherhood of St Laurence. He co-founded and is a former CEO of listed technology company LookSmart and previously was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company. He has degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Melbourne, where he served as president of the SRC and as a founding officer of the National Union of Students.

Tom Bentley is a Senior Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard. He was previously the Executive Director for Policy and Cabinet in Victoria’s Department of Premier and Director of the Australian and New Zealand School of Government, responsible for applied learning and innovative programs. He was Director of Demos from 1999-2006, a leading independent think tank located in London. Prior to that he was special adviser to David Blunkett MP, then Secretary of State for Education and Employment, United Kingdom. Tom’s work includes climate change, economic innovation and better government.

Josh Bornstein is a Principal with Maurice Blackburn Cashman managing the Employment and Industrial Law Section. He advises a wide range of employees, contractors and trade unions throughout Australia. He was Chairman of the Industrial Relations Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria between 2003-2005 and is currently an Executive Committee member of its Workplace Relations Section. Josh sits on the Boards of Maurice Blackburn Cashman, A Just Australia, the Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law at the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board.

Louise Doyle is a principal with Effective Philanthropy. Louise works as a consultant in the not-for-profit sector providing advice to philanthropic investors in relation to their investment strategy and grant making. She is also the Executive Officer of the Becher Foundation. Prior to philanthropy, Louise was an associate producer for Channel 4 in the UK and worked in feature film and multi-media production. Louise has completed the Stanford Executive Program for Philanthropy Leaders, and holds a BA from La Trobe University and a Certificate in Public Relations from RMIT.

Lorraine Elsass is a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist. Lorraine has been in private practice in Richmond, Victoria since 1989, counselling, assessing, treating, report writing and making court appearances. She obtained a BA from Monash majoring in Politics and Philosophy, before roaming the world for two years including living and studying in Berkeley, California for a semester. Lorraine then returned to Melbourne and completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, majoring in Psychology, followed by a Master of Psychology and a PhD in Psychology from La Trobe University. Her Masters and PhD research investigated interpersonal relationships and behavioural changes following closed head injury.

Joshua Funder is an investor at GBS Ventures, a fund focused on Australasian biotechnology. He previously worked at Infinity Pharmaceuticals, a drug discovery start-up in Boston, at BCG in San Francisco and with the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative where he successfully negotiated reduced prices for anti-retrovirals and initiate pharmaceutical supplies across eastern and southern Africa. Joshua earned B.Sc. and LL.B. degrees at Melbourne University, an LL.M. degree at the London School of Economics and a D.Phil in intellectual property for biotechnology from Oxford University.

Tony Kitchener is a successful inventor and engineer with a specialisation in compressor technology. He makes a living by the sale of his intellectual property and is very interested in innovation. His companies license patented technology to a global client base, including Daewoo, MAN and Ingersoll Rand, to bring about cost reductions, productivity increases, workflow improvements, environmental efficiencies and improved management-staff relations. Tony lives in Melbourne.
